Is Change Permanent?

The painting depicts three people against a natural background. Two of them are vividly portrayed, while the third is not. The work is created using gouache in muted colours. It made me reflect on how people often say that love, time, and memory are permanent. However, the irony is that everything constantly changes, for instance, people's characteristics, perseverance, or growth. So, could it be that "change" is the only permanent thing? The individuals in the painting symbolise the strong connections between people, rooted in love, time, and memory, which they believe to be everlasting. Yet, in truth, they are not.
